Oklahoma City, OK (October 15, 2024) – November is one of the busiest months for the Paseo Arts Association and it all starts with three new art exhibitions! These exhibits will open on Nov. 1 during First Friday Gallery Walk from 6-9pm in the Paseo Arts and Creativity Center, 3024 Paseo. These exhibits include abstract painting by Brett Payne in Gallery I, the Small Art Show in Gallery II and photography by Sheryl McLain in Gallery III.

Originally starting as an Opera singer, Brett Payne has used his performing experience to translate music and vocal theory into colorful, abstract, mixed-media artwork. Payne believes that Opera and abstraction go hand in hand and that their nuances influence the audience. By blending these two structures together, Payne hopes that his work will speak something into the soul of the viewer and inspire memories and feelings that are unique to each person. Gallery I will display his fascinating and colorful creations.

Gallery II will showcase the Small Art Show is one of the Paseo Arts Associations five annual juried exhibitions; it will be on display for the months of November and December and it features small artwork, perfect for the beginning collector and holiday shoppers. All work is under 15” in any direction and priced under $200 including painting, printmaking, sculpture and mixed media. This year’s show features over 60 artists and is juried by Suzanne C. Thomas, a mixed media artist who also serves as a tenured professor of art and is the director of the Raiders Horizon Honors Program at Rose State College.

Gallery III will display photography by Sheryl McLain in her exhibit titled, Beautiful Earth, Through My Own Lens. With over 30 years of experience, McLain’s passion for photography began when she purchased her first camera as a young college student, transforming her craft into a profound creative outlet and therapeutic release. This exhibition features stunning imagery from her international travels around the world. McLain's ultimate goal is to connect her images to the hearts and souls of others, inviting them to experience the beauty of our planet through her unique perspective.
