OKC Black Restaurant Bingo: A Culinary Celebration with OKC Thunder During Black History Month
Bigger Than Food Foundation is thrilled to announce the launch of OKC Black Restaurant Bingo, a foodie adventure in partnership with OKC Thunder, to celebrate Black History Month. The campaign kicks off on February 1, 2024, and concludes at 11:59 PM on February 29, 2024.
This unique event spotlights the rich culinary landscape of Black-owned restaurants in the Oklahoma City Metro Area. Bingo players are invited to explore and dine at participating establishments, marking their progress on a specially designed bingo card. The first 1,000 participants to complete a bingo will receive two home game tickets to an OKC Thunder game. Additionally, there are various other exciting prizes to be won throughout the month.
Apollo Woods, Executive Director of the Bigger Than Food Foundation, emphasizes that this campaign is more than a bingo game. "It's a celebration of our city's stellar culinary talent and an opportunity to learn about our Black-owned restaurants through the universal language of food," he says. Our goal is to inspire 10,000 downloads and each bingo player spend $100 with participating locations during Black History Month. This effort will stimulate $1,000,000 in collecting spending benefitting participating restaurants and the local economy.
Participants are encouraged to share their experiences on social media using #OKCBlackRestaurantBingo, fostering a sense of community and shared joy in discovering new dining destinations.
We invite the press and media to join in this delicious journey, capture the vibrant stories of these eateries, and share them with your audiences. The OKC Black Restaurant Bingo presents a narrative of culinary excellence, community strength, and the celebration of Black History Month in a unique and engaging way.
