Designated night designed for guests with sensory sensitivities and their families, groups to experience OKC ZOO SAFARI LIGHTS.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year with the return of Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden’s annual celebration of illuminated lanterns and festive fun, OKC ZOO SAFARI LIGHTS. Presented by OG&E, OKC ZOO SAFARI LIGHTS is back for another season beginning Saturday, November 12 and continuing through Sunday, January 1, 2023. New to this year’s SAFARI LIGHTS’ festivities, the OKC Zoo is hosting a Sensory-Friendly Night on Monday, November 28, from 6 to 10 p.m. with the last entry at 9 p.m. This designated night is designed to provide a more comfortable experience for guests with sensory sensitivities to enjoy OKC ZOO SAFARI LIGHTS, its light displays and activities.
“By making these slight modifications, this special night promises to create a memorable visit for guests, families and friends to enjoy all the magic and wonder of SAFARI LIGHTS,” said Jenna Dodson, OKC Zoo’s event manager. “Our teams are always looking to improve our events and programs to be more inclusive, providing the best experience possible for all guests.”
During the Sensory-Friendly Night, guests will discover a less sensory stimulating environment with lower crowd attendance, limited flashing lights, quieter music and a specified quiet area inside the OKC Zoo’s Canopy Restaurant for anyone that needs to take a break from the event trail. Advance reservations are required for the Sensory-Family Night and capacity is limited so book now at www.okczoo.org/safari-lights.
