Rise and shine for Oklahoma Zoological Society’s (OZS/ZOOfriends) 35th annual Ostrich Egg Breakfast (OEB), Oklahoma City’s most popular breakfast event, happening at the Oklahoma City Zoo on Saturday, May 7, Mother’s Day weekend. Connect with family and friends while enjoying a delicious breakfast buffet with the sights and sounds of the Zoo surrounding you.

Ostrich Egg Breakfast guests can choose to attend one of two event sessions: Early Birds from 8 to 10 a.m. and the Brunch Bunch from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Select brunch cocktails including mimosas with cranberry, orange or pineapple juice options and Bloody Marys will be available for purchase at the brunch session. OEB seating is limited to 1,500 guests per breakfast session and advance reservations are required. Breakfast goers will feast on a smorgasbord of pancakes, sausage, bacon, scrambled hens’ eggs, waffles, bagels and more. OEB will be served by dedicated community volunteers at the Zoo’s Devon Picnic Grounds, and is a fundraising event in support of the OKC Zoo.

“Ostrich Egg Breakfast is one of our longest-running and most beloved traditions,” said Mandy Heaps, executive director of the Oklahoma Zoological Society. “We are thrilled to dedicate this year’s event to celebrating the moms in our lives. Not only will breakfast be delicious but there will be a number of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.”

This gift bundle features a custom OEB event T-shirt and coffee mug, OKC ZOO POO and pollinator seed pack plus, a souvenir OEB “mom” temporary tattoo, and will be available for purchase at ZOOfriends’ office in the entry plaza for $40. Limited-edition OEB shirts are available for $20 per shirt for adult sizes and $18 per shirt for youth sizes. Shirt sizes and quantity are limited so pre-order with the purchase of event tickets at www.okczoo.org.

OEB tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at www.okczoo.org. Tickets are also available by calling (405) 425-0618 or in-person at the ZOOfriends Membership office located in the Zoo’s entry plaza during regular park hours. OEB tickets include Zoo admission and entry to event with breakfast buffet. ZOOfriends members receive $5 off per ticket. Ticket prices per event session are as follows:

  • Early Bird Session (8 to 10 a.m.): $30 per adult, ages 12 and older, $25 per child, ages 3-11 and seniors. Children ages 2 and under are free.
  • Brunch Bunch Session (10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.): $45 per brunch adult, 21 and older - includes Zoo admission, entry to the event with breakfast buffet plus two $8.50 drink vouchers for mimosa and/or Blood Mary; $30 per adult, ages 12 and older, $25 per child, ages 3-11 and seniors. Children ages 2 and under are free.

Volunteers are needed to assist with serving food, checking guests in, selling t-shirts and more! OEB volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and breakfast before or after their shift.
