Art in Bloom growth helps ensure more lives are enriched

OKLAHOMA CITY (April 16, 2026) The seventh annual Art in Bloom, held last weekend at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art (OKCMOA), saw a record number of visitors in attendance as well as its fundraising goal surpassed. Fifteen florists created sculptures inspired by galleries and works on view, and the weekend was packed with sold-out programs. Awards consisted of People’s Choice awarded to Nai’s Sweet Florals, inspired by Elmer Bischoff’s Two Figures in the Garden; President’s Choice awarded to Curbside Flowers, inspired by Postwar Abstraction; and Floral Designers' Choice awarded to Anthousai Florals, inspired by Landscape Painting.

"Not only does Art in Bloom introduce our galleries to new visitors, but its success also allows us to follow through in our mission to enrich lives through the visual arts year round,” said Director of Institutional Advancement Jillian Coker. “We are grateful to everyone who attended or sponsored Art in Bloom and are excited to continue to grow this beloved event in the years ahead.”

Art in Bloom was once again presented by Joan Payne, who, along with Annie Bohanon, has been named Honorary Chair for the Museum’s next fundraiser: OKCMOA’s 50th Annual Renaissance Ball. “Annie Bohanon and Joan Payne are not only two of the Museum’s most passionate and generous supporters but are also key figures across Oklahoma’s cultural landscape,” said OKCMOA President and CEO Michael Anderson, PhD. “We want to thank them both for everything they continue to do to make our city a vibrant arts capital.”

Renaissance Ball will be held Friday, October 2, at the Museum’s Downtown campus, from 6:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., and this milestone black-tie event is chaired by Hannah and Stuart Hudson. Sponsorships are now available. For more information about how to participate in Renaissance Ball, the Museum’s largest annual fundraiser, please visit okcmoa.com/ball.
