Tickets are now on sale for Oklahoma City Ballet’s production of Romeo & Juliet. Let Oklahoma City Ballet romance you with the greatest love story ever told this Valentine's Day weekend.
With four performances at the Civic Center Music Hall February 14-16, this rich theatrical experience is packed with edge-of-your-seat sword fights and dazzling choreography by Oklahoma City Ballet artistic director Robert Mills.
Escape to 16th-century Verona as the Oklahoma City Philharmonic brings to life Prokofiev's lush, romantic score. "When you're dealing with a composition where the composer was truly putting the music together to underlie a story like this, you hear everything. You hear the emotion. You hear the characters in the music," said artistic director Robert Mills.
The Oklahoman called Mills’ Romeo & Juliet “stunningly beautiful” and “an emotional journey that filled the senses” upon its premiere in 2015.
New with this year’s restaging is the use of set and costume designs created by internationally renowned opera and ballet scenic designer, Alain Vaes. The beautiful hand painted drops and ornate costumes were originally created for the Boston Ballet.
This performance also offers Oklahoma City Ballet's first ticket lottery, which can be entered at okcballet.org/lottery for a chance to win $15 tickets. The lottery will be open from February 3 through February 10, and winners will be notified on February 10. Contact the Oklahoma City Ballet Box Office for more information.
