Website relaunch includes new features and greater accessibility
The Oklahoma City Convention & Visitors Bureau (OKC CVB) is excited to unveil a newly redesigned VisitOKC.com, featuring enhanced destination content, trip planning resources and web accessibility. Along with VisitOKC.com, the full redesign includes sites for Meetings and Sports event planners.
The primary goal of the website redesign is to create a more accessible and user-friendly experience for both mobile device and desktop users. New features include simplified navigation throughout the site and an interactive map of the city and 14 districts. Newer technology and design principles were incorporated to improve load time and video capabilities. The design also showcases the Modern Frontier branding that Oklahoma City developed in 2020 to unify the destination’s brand and messaging.
“We see VisitOKC.com consistently performing above other destination websites, but the old website was built nearly a decade ago from a desktop user perspective and we now average around 70 percent of traffic from mobile devices and tablets,” said Zac Craig, President of the OKC CVB. “VisitOKC.com attracts more than 1.5 million annual users, and we expect to see that number continue to grow.”
Within the navigation of the site, viewers will discover relevant content is easier to find with elevated Plan Your Visit and Districts content. The popular Insider’s Guide blog is more prominent in the new design and features curated content on the blog’s homepage.
While leisure travelers will appreciate the new VisitOKC.com, there’s also plenty for meetings and sporting event planners to enjoy. The new MeetInOKC.com is a one-stop-shop for convention planners with more robust venue and hotel information, details on the new convention center complex, plus inspiration for creating memorable attendee experiences.
The OKCsports.org site is brand-new and elevates OKC as a sports destination by leveraging our championship-caliber facilities, as well as all the reasons why planners should hold their next tournament or championship in Oklahoma City.
