2021 season features a grown and made in Oklahoma producer-only marketplace
The OSU-OKC Farmers Market at Scissortail Park is scheduled to open Saturday, April 3 for the 2021 season. Oklahoma City’s largest outdoor market will feature an all made and grown in Oklahoma producer-only marketplace providing access to more fresh products to serve the community. Located at the corner of Oklahoma City Boulevard and South Robinson Avenue, the Scissortail Park Farmers Market will be open, rain or shine, every Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. through October.
Shopping options this season include more than 50 vendors providing everything from fresh produce, meats, specialty foods, plants, honey, cut flowers, coffee and specialty beverages, beer, baked goods, pottery, soaps, pet products, and more. For shoppers who enjoyed the market’s offerings last year, they can expect to find even more options and varieties in 2021.
The 2021 grand opening celebration begins at 9 a.m. with a special goat “ribbon nibbling.” From 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Kyle Dillingham and Horseshoe Road will perform for market shoppers on the Love’s Travel Stops Stage and Great Lawn. With an eclectic musical style ranging from blues to bluegrass, gypsy jazz to western swing, country, rock and gospel, Kyle Dillingham and Horseshoe Road blend them into an earthly genre they call Heartland Americana.

“I cannot wait to start shopping again at our Farmers Market as it reopens for the 2021 season,” said Maureen Heffernan, CEO of Myriad Botanical Gardens and Scissortail Park. “I miss the fresh produce, flowers, pastries, coffee, honey, breads and especially the great community spirit of so many people coming together at the market. With an exciting variety of fresh, Oklahoma grown produce and food products, this is the place to kick-start your weekend. Make it your Saturday to shop, enjoy live music and enjoy the beauty of your Scissortail Park. Special thanks to OSU-OKC for their generous support of the market.“
Free parking on weekends is available around the perimeter of the Park and in the special event parking lot on the northwest corner of Oklahoma City Boulevard and Thunder Drive across from Chesapeake Energy Arena. Horticulture Heroes from Scissortail Park will be available to assist customers with carrying out purchases.
The popular, drive-up loading zone on Oklahoma City Boulevard, Veggie Valet, will continue this season. Guests are invited to hold their packages at Veggie Valet as they shop, and then pull their cars up for curbside package pickup.
The Farmers Market Information Tent is available for shoppers to visit with Park staff, purchase Scissortail Park merchandise, and find information on the nutrition assistance programs the market offers including Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Assistance Program (SFMNP) Double Up Oklahoma (DUO), and OKFresh.
While shoppers are at Scissortail Park in early April, they are invited to walk around the grounds to enjoy the 100,500 blooming daffodils on display.
