Featuring Groundbreaking for the Bar K dog park, restaurant and bar concept
Oklahoma City (October 16, 2021) - RIVERSPORT’s Outdoor October continues Saturday in the Boathouse District and begins at 9:00 a.m. with the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Bar K dog park, restaurant and bar. The event is part of the Boathouse District’s “Dogtober” celebration which will feature dog-friendly activities throughout the day.
“Biketober” activities will also be happening and Saturday and will include the Rad Rumble BMX race at the bike park, a 15-mile group ride along the Oklahoma River trails, and a free Fix-a-Flat & Bike Maintenance clinic.
Bar K, the new dog park, bar and restaurant slated to open in the Boathouse District in 2022, will host a popup dog park and dog-friendly activities throughout the day including free Doga dog yoga, free SUP with your PUP, an off-leash dog park area, beer and wine sales, plus live music.
RIVERSPORT will be hosting the Second Annual Rad Rumble BMX races at the OKC Velosolutions Pump Track. Along with the racing, the urban nature trail and mountain bike skills track will be open Saturday to the public.
Both novice and experienced cyclists are invited to join RIVERSPORT's Biketober Bike Ride. Riders will meet in front of RIVERSPORT's Whitewater Center at 10:00 a.m. The 15-mile group ride will be along the north and south side of the Oklahoma River.
After the Ride, riders will have the opportunity to stay for a free Fix-a-Flat & Bike Maintenance clinic. RIVERPORT staff will show how to change a flat and participants can work along on their own bikes if they choose. The instructors will also go over basic maintenance tips to keep bikes in tip-top shape between tune-ups.
