Like any sport, the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) annually inducts a class of deserving individuals into its version of a Hall of Fame, and for the world’s premier bull riding organization that is the Heroes & Legends ceremony.
Recognized over the years as one of the top Western sports award ceremonies, the annual PBR Heroes & Legends event honors categories including the coveted Ring of Honor, awarded to a distinguished athlete; Brand of Honor, awarded to an extraordinary animal athlete and its owner; Jim Shoulders Lifetime Achievement Award, to those who have significantly impacted western sports; Ty Murray Top Hand Award and Sharon Shoulders Award.
The 2025 Heroes & Legends ceremony will mark the third class of inductees who will be honored in Oklahoma City at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. The event will be held during the Oklahoma Wildcatters’ annual homestand, scheduled from July 11-13 at Paycom Center.
The Heroes & Legends Ceremony was relocated to Oklahoma City in 2023 as part of a larger partnership between PBR and the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
The partnership, which was announced in Sept. 2022, brought the PBR’s first-ever Hall of Fame to the renowned venue’s American Rodeo Gallery, and fostered the development of PBR’s mobile Hall of Fame kiosk, which debuted during the 2024 Unleash The Beast season.
On Thursday, July 10, join the PBR, National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum and esteemed members of the Western sports community as they gather to formally induct the 2025 class of Heroes & Legends inductees.
The 2025 class of inductees includes: J.B. Mauney and Warren G. “Freckles” Brown for Ring of Honor; Big Bucks for Brand of Honor; Pam Minick for Jim Shoulders Lifetime Achievement Award; Roy Cooper for Ty Murray Top Hand Award; and Priscila Palermo for Sharon Shoulders Award.
