OKLAHOMA CITY — This fall, Myriad Botanical Gardens invites families to hit the road for a one-of-a-kind autumn adventure during Pumpkinville: Road to Route 66 presented by OG&E, a celebration inspired by the 100th anniversary of the historic Route 66.

Running Thursday through Monday, Oct. 1–25, Pumpkinville transforms Myriad Botanical Gardens into a colorful fall destination featuring thousands of pumpkins, seasonal displays, family activities, and larger-than-life pumpkin murals inspired by some of Route 66's most recognizable landmarks. Pumpkinville: Road to Route 66 is presented by OG&E and supported by Devon Energy, BancFirst, Tinker Federal Credit Union, and MetroFamily Magazine.

This year's theme pays tribute to the highway that helped define the American road trip and has deep roots in Oklahoma history. Guests will discover creative pumpkin murals depicting iconic Route 66 attractions, including Oklahoma favorites like the Blue Whale of Catoosa and POPS Arcadia, along with Cadillac Ranch in Texas, the Wigwam Motel in Arizona, and other classic roadside surprises from across the Mother Road.

“Pumpkinville brings families, neighbors and visitors together to celebrate the season and, this year, explore the sights and stories of Route 66,” said Kelli Hayward Walsh, manager of community outreach and engagement for OG&E. “It’s a special way to honor Oklahoma’s heritage and enjoy the longtime tradition of Pumpkinville that fosters learning, connection and memorable experiences for the communities we serve."

Since 2012, Pumpkinville has welcomed generations of families to celebrate the arrival of fall in downtown Oklahoma City. What began as a modest seasonal display has grown into one of Oklahoma City's most beloved family fall festivals, attracting thousands of visitors each year with imaginative pumpkin creations, hands-on children's activities, and unforgettable photo opportunities. Pumpkinville is also the Myriad Gardens Foundation's largest annual fundraiser, with proceeds supporting the nonprofit's mission to enhance Oklahoma City's educational, aesthetic, cultural, and economic development through the Gardens' horticultural displays, educational programming, and year-round community experiences.

Membership Promotion

Families can make the most of the season by becoming Myriad Botanical Gardens members before Pumpkinville begins. During August and September, anyone who purchases a new membership or renews an existing membership will receive $10 off first-year dues along with free admission to Pumpkinville, making membership an even greater value while supporting one of Oklahoma City's treasured nonprofit destinations.

Membership also includes year-round benefits such as free admission to the Inasmuch Foundation Crystal Bridge Conservatory, free or discounted admission to select events, exclusive member perks, and reciprocal admission to hundreds of botanical gardens throughout North America.

Pumpkinville: Road to Route 66 is presented by OG&E and supported by Devon Energy, BancFirst, Tinker Federal Credit Union, and MetroFamily Magazine. The festival runs Oct. 1–25 at Myriad Botanical Gardens, 301 W. Reno Ave., and is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursdays, Sundays and Mondays, with extended hours 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The festival is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
