RIVERSPORT OKC is proud to announce special offerings for military personnel and veterans this summer beginning this Memorial Day. In appreciation for their service, RIVERSPORT is offering a discounted day pass for $29.99 exclusively for active-duty military and veterans on Monday, May 29.
Additionally, RIVERSPORT is providing opportunities for veteran teams to participate for free in Rowing, Whitewater Rafting, and Dragon Boating teams.
The Warrior participants, who are individuals aged 18 years or older and have served honorably in the military, will undergo training in rowing, whitewater rafting, or dragon boating in preparation for the exciting competition at the Stars & Stripes River Festival on June 24.
"RIVERSPORT Warriors gives veterans with a disability a concrete way to reclaim their ability to be physically active in a team sport and, in the process, helps restore a sense of hope for the future. The social support, team camaraderie and feeling of accomplishment are irreplaceable. The increase in physical activity is a bonus," said Jamie Collazo, USMC Veteran and RIVERSPORT Veterans Program Coordinator.
For those interested in rowing practice, sessions are held 10-11:30 a.m. every Thursday morning through June 24. The fee for participation is $250, but veterans with a service connection can join for free.
Whitewater rafting practice takes place on Thursdays through June 24 from 6-7:30 p.m. The cost for participation is $200, with veterans having a service connection being able to join for free.
Dragon boat practice runs every Wednesday through June 24 starting at 6:30 p.m. and concluding at 8 p.m. The fee for participation is $175, but veterans with a service connection can participate for free.
Coach-led practices will offer participants of all experience levels the opportunity to work together and compete against other teams on the Oklahoma River and RIVERSPORT Rapids.

Starting Monday, May 29, RIVERSPORT’s Downtown location and Lake Overholser location will be open seven days a week. RIVERSPORT’s Downtown location will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Lake Overholser Flat Tide will be open Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday 11 a.m.-8 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
