OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (August 18, 2026) – RIVERSPORT, in partnership with Oklahoma State University, will host the 2026 Swiftwater Conference & Championship Games from Aug. 24 – 28, 2026 at RIVERSPORT’s Whitewater Center in Oklahoma City. The event is designed for first responders, including fire departments, law enforcement, EMS, Urban Search & Rescue (USAR) teams, and military personnel, providing advanced education and hands-on training in Swiftwater rescue operations.
The conference will run from Aug. 24 - 28, featuring classroom instruction from OSU’s fire rescue program combined with hands-on training at RIVERSPORT’s $45 million whitewater facility. Participants will develop critical skills through realistic rescue scenarios and advanced techniques, such as raft flips, vehicle rescues, and tension diagonal operations.
On Friday, Aug 28, from 1:00pm – 4:30pm, the RIVERSPORT Swiftwater Championship Games will take place, open to first responders nationwide. The competition will award individual and team prizes, with participants showcasing their technical rescue skills in a challenging whitewater environment. Spectators are encouraged to come and watch the games, and the media is invited to cover the event.
