OKLAHOMA CITY (June 24, 2025) — RIVERSPORT’s biggest whitewater showdown is back. PaddleMania returns Saturday, July 19, challenging paddlers and thrill seekers to take on eight million gallons of rapids, five wild events and each other for prizes and bragging rights.
The third annual event runs from 3 to 8 p.m. at the RIVERSPORT Whitewater Center. Admission is free for spectators. Competitors pay just $30 whether they enter one event or all five. RIVERSPORT members compete free.
This year’s PaddleMania features crowd favorites:
· Lucky Duck: a timed inflatable kayak race
· Battle of the Paddles: team raft racing — no practice, no coaching, just go
· Build Your Own Boat (BYOB): create it, race it, hope it floats
· Kayak Cross: head-to-head slalom mayhem off a 10-foot ramp
· Hold My Beer/Roll Challenge: freestyle rolls, extra points if you don’t spill your drink
“Battle of the Paddles is a family-friendly favorite,” said RIVERSPORT OKC Executive Director Chris Sorensen. “It’s a chance for parents, kids and friends to jump in a raft, race down the rapids and have a blast together.”
The event is open to a wide range of ages and skill levels, with divisions for youth and adults.
“PaddleMania is pure fun on the rapids. People get creative, get competitive and have a blast,” said Sorensen. “Spectators love it too. You never know what will happen once those homemade boats hit the water.”
After the races, stick around for live music by Bruster & Co., food trucks, yard games and a freestyle kayak session to close out the day.
