Kick Off the Holidays with a Winter 5K, Costume Contest, and Family-Friendly Fun

 

(OKLAHOMA CITY) – The Saints Santa Run returns to Midtown OKC on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, bringing festive fun to Downtown in December presented by Devon. Presented by SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital, the event offers a 5K Run/Walk, 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk, and a free 50-yard Kids’ Dash along a route that starts and ends at the hospital’s east parking lot.

 

“SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital is proud to celebrate the fifth year of hosting the Saints Santa Run on our Midtown campus,” said Sandra Payne, Regional Vice President, Marketing & Communication at SSM Health Care of Oklahoma. “This festive event has become a holiday tradition that promotes healthy living and showcases the vibrant spirit of downtown Oklahoma City.”

 

Participants in the 5K Run/Walk or 1-Mile Fun Run will receive a commemorative Saints Santa Run t-shirt and finisher medal. In addition to the run, an abundance of free holiday programming is provided for attendees to enjoy before and after the races. Free activities include visits with Santa, face painting, a magician, photo ops, plus festive music to keep everyone in the holiday spirit. The Santa Run Hydration Station sponsored by Tinker Federal Credit Union will offer free water and giveaways. Food for purchase will be available on-site from Metro Minis food truck, Starbucks, and Chick-fil-A.

 

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Santa Run without costumes! Runners are encouraged to dress as Santa or wear their most creative holiday attire for the costume contest, held after the 5K, with cash prizes awarded for the Most Festive, Best Santa, Best Pet. Cash prizes will also be awarded to the top overall male, female, and non-binary 5K race winners.

 

After the race, participants can explore Midtown and enjoy special deals and discounts at local businesses by showing their race bib or registration at participating locations.

 

Registration is $35 for the 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk and $45 for the 5K Run/Walk. Registration is open online at DowntownInDecember.com/Santa-Run. Register by Nov. 21 and save $5. Registration is also available on-site during the event beginning at 8:45 a.m.

 

Day of packet pick up will begin at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, at the SSM Health St. Anthony campus located at 535 NW 9th St - East Entrance Parking Lot. Runners can also retrieve their packets early on Friday, Dec. 5, from 8th Street Church at 708 NW  8th St. between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

 

Schedule for race day is as follows:

  • 8:45 a.m. – Day-of Registration, Packet Pick Up & Festivities
  • 9:45 a.m. – Free Kids’ Dash begins (ages 8 and under)
  • 10 a.m. – 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk begins
  • 10:30 a.m. – 5K Run/Walk begins
  • 11:15 a.m. – Race Results & Awards
  • 11:30 a.m. – Costume Contest

All proceeds from the Saints Santa Run benefit Downtown Oklahoma City Partnership, which provides services to the downtown area including keeping the streets clean and safe, marketing downtown and its districts, and activating the urban core with community events and public art.

 

The event is produced by Downtown OKC Partnership, presented by SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital, and supported by Midtown OKC, Oklahoma Shirt Company, Focus FCU and Tinker Federal Credit Union.
