Explore Dinosaurs, Fossils, and Earth's Changing Landscapes with Discounted Admission

 

OKLAHOMA CITY, July 6, 2026 — Science Museum Oklahoma will welcome homeschool families for a day of hands-on Earth science exploration during HomeSchool Day on Wed., Aug. 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Designed specifically for homeschool students and their families, the program features interactive activities focused on dinosaurs, fossils, plate tectonics, ancient oceans, and the ever-changing landscapes that shaped Oklahoma and beyond. Admission is $10 per person for homeschool families.

 

Throughout the day, students will investigate real scientific concepts by examining fossils, uncovering geologic clues, building maps of ancient Oklahoma, and discovering how scientists use evidence to understand Earth's history. Activities are designed to connect Earth science concepts to Oklahoma's unique geology and fossil record.

 

Families may also register for optional classroom experiences for an additional $10 per student to cover supplies happening at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Younger learners, ages 4 to 7, can become paleontologists in Dino Detectives, while students ages 8 to 12 can test their knowledge in Dino or Not?, comparing prehistoric creatures to discover what truly makes a dinosaur a dinosaur.

"HomeSchool Day gives families the opportunity to connect classroom learning with fun exploration in a way that's engaging, memorable, and uniquely Oklahoma."

 

HomeSchool Day is designed to complement at-home learning while giving students the opportunity to participate in hands-on STEM experiences alongside other homeschool families. In addition to the featured activities and optional classes, participants are encouraged to spend the day exploring Science Museum Oklahoma's hundreds of interactive exhibits.

 

Advance registration is encouraged, as classroom experiences have limited capacity.
