(OKLAHOMA CITY) – Midtown Walkabout returns this spring on Saturday, April 16 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Midtown merchants will be offering in-store promotions, discounts, activities, and giveaways during their normal operating hours, in addition to free family programming throughout the district provided by the Midtown Association and Downtown Oklahoma City Partnership (DOKC). The event will feature springtime promotions and activities for those shopping, eating, and visiting the district as well as for folks at home.

Event attendees are invited to explore the vibrant neighborhood and enjoy free caricatures and balloon animals, live music, outdoor activities, and a free community yoga class led by 405 Yoga on the terrace at Fassler Hall. Curbside Flowers will pop-up at the Midtown Bocce Courts, located at N.W. 9th St. and Hudson Ave., where visitors can also shop for flowers and pick up a mini bouquet, while supplies last.

Downtown OKC staff and volunteers will be surprising a few lucky event attendees with gift cards from Midtown businesses as a part of “Midtown Acts of Kindness,” which serves as a thank you from Midtown for visiting the district. Simply being out and about makes guests eligible to receive a gift card.

Midtown Walkabout is hosted by the Midtown Association and Downtown OKC Partnership and is always free to attend. In addition to in-person promotions, some businesses will be offering online and takeout specials for those wishing to participate in the fun from the comfort of their home.

Attendees can pick up event information including a list of programming and merchant specials at any of the participating businesses or the information tent located in the Brown’s Bakery Parking lot during the event.
