OKC Gets a Little Sweeter with the Arrival of Beloved Neighborhood Bakery at Classen Curve
OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA—Feb. 18, 2025 - Get ready to indulge as SusieCakes, the classic all-American neighborhood bakery known for its deliciously nostalgic, made-fresh-daily treats, announces the grand opening of its first Oklahoma City location at 5810 N. Classen Blvd., in the Classen Curve shopping center. SusieCakes will open its doors for business at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, with the official public grand opening celebration of the 1,625-square-foot bakery taking place that afternoon from noon to 3 p.m.
“Opening a SusieCakes location in Oklahoma City was a natural choice for us because OKC is known for its year-round celebrations and community gatherings,” said Owner and Founder Susan “Susie” Sarich. “I love how OKC has upheld its small-town values while becoming a major city. I’ve experienced nothing but warmth and kindness each time I visit, making it feel like a perfect fit for our brand. We’re excited to share our time-honored recipes and in-bakery experience with such a welcoming and inviting community, and we hope to become a cherished part of your celebrations!”
SusieCakes has planned a variety of sweet surprises for its grand opening celebration, and Susie herself will be there to greet and visit with guests. The event will feature entertainment for the whole family, including a children’s balloon artist, face painter, DJ, and a coloring contest. The first 50 guests through the door starting at 11 a.m. will receive a free SusieCakes mug (purchase required, one mug per purchase). Guests can also enter a raffle to win free cakes for a year (valued at $750). With every purchase, they’ll have the chance to draw a prize from a grab bag, with top prizes valued at $50. Can’t make it on Saturday? Stop by the bakery’s soft opening on Friday, March 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 2 to 4 p.m.
