Grant will help fund Healing Arts Outreach Program at St. Anthony Hospital Behavioral Medicine Center

The Oklahoma City Museum of Art (OKCMOA) announces it has received a $10,000 grant from the Oklahoma City Community Foundation and its Opportunities for Children iFund grant program. The grant will be used to assist in funding OKCMOA's Healing Arts Outreach Program at SSM Health St. Anthony Behavioral Medicine Center, which will serve approximately 900 patients.

“This grant allows us to extend the mission of the Museum outside our walls,” said Michael Anderson, interim president & CEO. “Through our healing arts outreach program, many members of the Oklahoma City community who are not currently able to visit in person still have access to an enriching visual arts experience with Museum staff. We are grateful to the Oklahoma City Community Foundation for recognizing the importance of this program and helping us reach even more patients at SSM.”

OKCMOA offers a monthly art lesson to children and teens at the St. Anthony Hospital Behavioral Medicine Center. The grant from the Oklahoma City Community Foundation will fund artists' time and supplies for this important hospital-based healing arts program. The Museum's art lessons comply with Oklahoma Visual Art Standards and serve as an outlet for creativity and expression for patients.
