(OKLAHOMA CITY) – The West Village District’s Fourth Friday celebration returns on Friday, May 24, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event is a series of block parties held every Fourth Friday, May through October.
The newly formed West Village district encompasses the southwestern corner of downtown including John Rex Elementary, Historic Film Row, The Montgomery Apartments, Main Street Arcade building, West Village Apartments, The Jones Assembly and Fordson Hotel.
This year’s Fourth Friday series will be centered around Historic Film Row’s Sheridan and Lee Avenue, offering a mix of entertainment options for all ages. Lee Avenue will be closed to traffic for a block party featuring live music by MTKD Band and Zin Babies, pop up market vendors, axe throwing and Shepp’s BBQ food truck.
Along Sheridan Avenue, visitors can explore on-street programming and the creative businesses that call Film Row home such as:
- Rodeo Cinema – Open house to watch 10 min shorts and cartoons
- Storyteller Theatre – MadLibs: Unscripted an interactive activity
- The Floating Bookshop – Storytime for children and adults
- Art Moves – Featuring live music by Sarafina Byrd at Sun Cattle Co.
- Sailor & the Dock – Free salsa class and food trucks La Birria SuPerb and The TOGO Box
- More sidewalk activities, performances, and crafts along Sheridan Ave.
Visitors can also explore the shops and restaurants lining Sheridan Avenue and participate in the “Punch to Play” program. Attendees will receive a punch on a card for every purchase they make at a participating business. After collecting five punches, they can enter the card for a chance to win prizes like gift certificates to district businesses.
