(OKLAHOMA CITY) – Downtown Oklahoma City’s West Village district invites the community to the launch of its seasonal event series, Fourth Fridays, beginning Friday, May 22, from 6 to 10 p.m. The free monthly celebration will transform the district into an open-air festival featuring live music, local artisans and family-friendly activities through October.

Centered along historic Film Row, Fourth Fridays will feature themed block parties on Lee Avenue each month. Event dates and themes include:

  • May 22 - Block Party Kickoff
  • June 26 - Puerto Rican Festival
  • July 24 - Out West Music Fest
  • Aug. 28 - Reggae Fest
  • Sept. 25 - Slamtober Fest
  • Oct. 23 - Halloween and Día de los Muertos Celebration

 

May’s kickoff event will feature live performances by blues artist Kent Burnside at Dunlap Codding on Film Row, along with additional entertainment and vendor pop-ups curated in partnership with Core4 Brewing Company.

Along Sheridan Avenue, attendees can enjoy a variety of activations, including:

  • Third Space Studio - Frame decorating station and mini Polaroid giveaway
  • Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition - Pop-up art exhibition and interactive scavenger hunt outside the Dunlap Codding courtyard
  • Arts Council Oklahoma City - Art Moves performance featuring Brad Fielder performing folk, blues and jazz-inspired music
  • Sailor & The Dock - Free swing dance lesson and social hosted by SwingOut OKC
  • Kaleidoscope Arts OKC - Complimentary henna art using natural henna paste
  • Lee Avenue stage - Live music from Stinnett Brothers and Megan and The Foxes

West Village continues to welcome new businesses to the district, including Oklahoma Milkshake Factory, Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition and Camila Hair Co. New additions at Sailor & The Dock include Cafe de L’Asie, Third Space Studio, and Top Line Collectibles.

The Fourth Fridays series is produced by the West Village Association event series is produced by the West Village Association and Downtown Oklahoma City Partnership.
