Two grassroots Oklahoma organizations unite to deliver a historic outdoor fight weekend in the heart of Bricktown
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — May 5, 2026 — Husky Fat Promotions and Hackman Boxing Promotions announced today that Worlds Collide: The Return of the Bricktown Brawl will take over Bricktown on Friday–Saturday, June 19–20, 2026, bringing live outdoor combat sports to the canal district for the first time.
Friday’s kickoff begins with gates opening at 6 p.m. and a concert starting at 7 p.m. Saturday’s fight night doors open at 5 p.m., with the first bell at 6 p.m. The weekend will feature elite striking matchups, hometown stars, and community events leading into Saturday night’s main card under the lights in downtown Oklahoma City.
The two-night event is expected to draw fans from across the metro and surrounding states, bringing new foot traffic and energy to Bricktown businesses while highlighting Oklahoma-made athletic talent. Organizers say the outdoor setting—staged along the canal—will create a one-of-a-kind, festival-style experience for fight fans and first-timers alike.
Worlds Collide will showcase a mix of rising prospects and established talent from Oklahoma and across the United States. Headlining the weekend is the return of Oklahoma’s own Lydell “Hackman” Rhodes, a veteran who has trained and competed among boxing’s elite and has been ranked as high as No. 3 in the world.
Also on the card:
- A Boxing vs. Kickboxing Grand Prix
- The U.S. Small-Gloves Pro Heavyweight Title on the line
- A featured matchup as Oklahoma fan-favorite Myron Dennis faces UFC and combat sports veteran Braxton Smith
From Grassroots to Glory
Founded on the local scene, Husky Fat Promotions has grown into a national platform—hosting the prestigious K-1 U.S. Grand Prix last year and becoming the first U.S. organization to sanction a 4 oz gloves kickboxing title.
Along the way, the promotion has continued to reinvest in the community, raising funds for nonprofits including:
- The Come Up Foundation
- Cleats for Kids
- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Norman
With Worlds Collide, Husky Fat aims to keep opening doors for Oklahoma athletes and bring more world-class opportunities to the region.
Hackman Boxing Promotions was founded to create opportunities for fighters from Oklahoma—especially boxers looking to reach the sport’s highest levels. Led by Lydell “Hackman” Rhodes, the promotion has built a reputation for high-energy shows across Oklahoma City and surrounding communities.
If the next breakout Oklahoma boxer is headed to the big stage, there’s a strong chance they’ll have come through a Hackman Boxing Promotions event.
Rhodes and Jones on the Future of Combat Sports in Oklahoma
“I fully believe that future world champions in boxing and kickboxing can come from Oklahoma. We just need the resources and the support that’s given to other major cities around the United States.”
— Lydell “Hackman” Rhodes, CEO/Fighter, Hackman Boxing Promotions
“Striking is the future of combat sports, and this collaboration is bigger than Boxing vs. Kickboxing—it’s the community coming together to do something Bricktown has never seen. For the first time, live fights will be held outdoors right on the canal.
We’re also kicking off the weekend with a Juneteenth celebration Friday night featuring local independent artists, food, drinks, and the Husky Fat press conference—free to the public. This will be a historic weekend.”
— Scott Jones, CEO, Husky Fat Promotions
