Summer solstice is cool and all, but here at deadCenter Film, we consider the second weekend in June as the official start to summer! The 22nd annual deadCenter Film Festival runs June 9-12 this year, and we’re excited to present the festival in-person for the first time since 2019. deadCenter Film is for the film connoisseur, the occasional movie watcher and everyone in between.

This year, our exceptional programming team has come together to curate a program of 174 independent films, ranging from feature length to short films, including narratives, documentaries, music videos and films by Oklahoma filmmakers. Screening venues include Harkins Theater in BricktownOklahoma City Museum of Art, Rodeo Cinema (both Stockyard and Film Row locations), The Yale, Scissortail Park and the Wheeler District. While the festival certainly revolves around film programming, there are also lots of parties and events, film education and panels and networking galore! Consider buying the BISON pass for full access to all things festival, featuring express admission and the ability to RSVP before a screening. There's also the dC FESTIVAL PASS, AFRO CINEMA WEEKEND PASS and a PRIDE PASS to help you dig in and do deadCenter your way. Individual tickets may be purchased for $10 at the screening venue before start of show. deadCenter ticket prices have remained at the same rate for two decades to make independent film accessible to everyone.

If you’ve never been to deadCenter, this is the year to check out your local film festival, operated in the “dead center” of the country. Come to support what Movie Maker Magazine has called one of the “20 Coolest Film Festivals” and a “Top 50 Festival Worth the Entry Fee.” If you have been to deadCenter, we welcome you back and can’t wait to celebrate the art of independent film with you!
