While the Zoo has plenty of activities to entertain, their neighboring attractions throughout the OKC Adventure District offer up even more fun. From the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum to Science Museum Oklahoma and the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex and Museum, there’s no shortage of top-notch attractions to keep your group busy.
Wacky OKC: Maybe you’ve been to OKC before or live here now and think you’ve experienced it all… But we may surprise you. OKC is home to some unique museums and attractions that you may not know about. Take an afternoon and head to the eclectic collection at Factory Obscura in Automobile Alley. Hit multiple museums in one day and see the American Banjo Museum in Bricktown, learn about skeletal systems at the Museum of Osteology or check out hand-painted porcelain art at the World Organization of China Painter’s Museum. It can be exciting to go out and learn about the attractions you might not have known existed, right in your backyard!
Soak up the sun on the river: If you’re looking for fun on the water with a splash of adventure, head to the Boathouse District, just minutes from downtown. You can do everything from kayaking, canoeing, whitewater rafting, zip lining and even alpine skiing. One of the major perks is that you’ve got a great view of the skyline when you’re eight stories high on the Sandridge Sky Trail.
Racing, Casino and Adventure: Spend the day betting on your favorite horse followed by delicious dinner and drinks. Remington Park Racing Casino in the OKC Adventure District is the ultimate adult playground. Brick by Brick: Whether you’re a baseball fan, movie lover, music junkie or foodie, OKC’s Bricktown Entertainment District has you covered. Take a cruise on the Bricktown Canal, catch an OKC Dodgers baseball game or see a live concert at the Criterion. Kids love Brickopolis, filled with family-friendly fun games, laser tag, miniature golf and dining. Adults love the rock-and-roll dueling pianos of Michael Murphy’s. Another popular attraction in the district is the Bricktown Bike Bar, one of the best ways to explore downtown.
Bottoms Up: If you’re a craft beer fan or prefer a nice glass of wine, OKC is overflowing with options! OKC is home to a number of excellent breweries and several of them offer brewery tours. Many of our local bars and pubs carry a great selection of local craft beer such as McNellie’s Public House, Oak & Ore or Fassler Hall. OKC also offers a great winery at Put a Cork in It in Bricktown. Whatever you favor, you can get a libation with a side of OKC hospitality.
