RIVERSPORT Adventures, an impressive attraction in Oklahoma City’s Boathouse District, has opened its outdoor activities just in time for the summer. With so many different amenities and events at this multi-purpose campus on the Oklahoma River, it's easy to spend an entire day at RIVERSPORT without even realizing how much time has passed. Grab your bathing suit, biking gear and climbing shoes and prepare for a summer packed with sun-soaked fun at RIVERSPORT Adventures.
Open only on weekends until May 27, RIVERSPORT’s land adventures, flatwater paddling and rafting are all available from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Beginning on May 27, RIVERSPORT will be fully open every day of the week with the same hours of operation.
RIVERSPORT offers more than 10 exciting, unique activities including surfing, skiing, tubing, kayaking, climbing walls, a bike park, an eSports area, a sky trail and whitewater rafting. The indoor skiing area at RIVERSPORT has earned national praise, being named one of Men’s Journal’s “Best Mountains for Beginner Skiers.”
The whitewater rafting section of RIVERSPORT is internationally renowned after hosting the World Paddlesports Festival in 2022, an event that saw athletes from around the world compete for multiple titles in OKC. Visitors can travel the same path on a kayak or raft this summer, enjoying a great view of the Modern Frontier while cooling off from the summer heat.
Surf OKC, RIVERSPORT’s surfing area, is a great opportunity for surfers of all skill levels to catch some waves. If you’ve never surfed before, RIVERSPORT offers lessons and has boards available to use.
RIVERSPORT’s SandRidge Sky Trail is the tallest adventure course of its kind in the world. Standing at 80 feet tall, the sky trail has multiple levels to explore in addition to a slide, zip line and free fall experience.
There are also a good variety of climbing walls at RIVERSPORT, including a 30-foot, four-sided wall, a youth wall, a speed wall, an adventure climb and simulated ice climbing. If none of these sound like your cup of tea, try your hand at the leap of faith or the cavern wall features.
If you enjoy mountain biking or BMX, RIVERSPORT has you covered with a mountain bike skills course and three impressive mountain bike/BMX courses. One of these trails is a 15,000 square-foot path with seamless waves, the biggest trail of its kind in the nation.
To top it all off, RIVERSPORT has a fun eSports area that includes a variety of video game options as well as virtual reality rowing!
If you get hungry while you’re on the Oklahoma River, stop by Big Water Grill for a bite to eat. This full-service restaurant will have you fueled up and ready to get back out on the water in no time.
If you’re looking for more than just daily adventures and fun, you’ll want to check out RIVERSPORT’s summer programming. Every Saturday from April 29-September 30, the Boathouse District will host a musical performance as part of its Summer Music Series. Another reoccurring event at RIVERSPORT is the Floating Films series, which consists of a movie-night style setting while floating in the Oklahoma River.
