In Oklahoma City, mac and cheese isn't just a side dish—it's the headliner! As someone who's been indulging in the gooey comfort of mac and cheese for nearly my entire life, I'm excited to share my top picks for the cheesiest, yummiest and most unique mac and cheeses in Oklahoma City.
Traditional
Bad Nonna's
Nestled inside Parlor, Bad Nonna's takes traditional mac to new heights with its homemade pasta. While they specialize in their Okie Mac, featuring hot links, house chili and parmesan, their traditional version is a testament to the comfort of classic flavors. I highly suggest getting a side of garlic bread—you won’t regret it.
Culprit's
Located in the Renaissance Hotel in Bricktown, Culprits' mac 'n' cheese blends white and smoked cheddar. Of course, the mac ‘n’ cheese is good by itself, but it also pairs perfectly with a steak.
Edge Craft BBQ
For those who crave a hearty, cheesy and creamy experience, Edge Craft BBQ offers mac and cheese topped with breadcrumbs for a satisfying crunch. Fun fact: The Twisters cast recently visited Edge Craft during their press tour when they had their premiere in town!
Flint
As a side to their Fried Chicken, Flint’s gouda mac and cheese is an elevated melt-in-your-mouth delight, complemented by crispy and savory bacon.
Iron Star
Elevating the traditional with a unique spin, Iron Star swaps out the typical pasta shape for ziti pasta, allowing their fancy cheese sauce to coat each piece perfectly.
Specialty with a Twist
Burger Punk
Burger Punk’s OG macaroni packs a punch with cheese (which they call Liquid Gold), fried onions, panko breadcrumbs and roasted jalapeños. The creamy cheese balances the spice perfectly. And yes, it’s as good as it sounds! They also have a double chili mac. Double because it includes house chili and green chiles.
Hank's
After trying Hank’s mac, I literally couldn’t stop thinking about it for days. You can order their creamy mac and cheese as a side or inside a stuffed turkey leg or half chicken (we highly recommend). For an extra twist, you can add shrimp or collard greens.
Mickey Mantle's Steakhouse
Known for their variety of macs, Mickey Mantle's offers not only traditional mac and cheese but versions with jalapeño bacon and lobster for those seeking something out of the box. The lobster mac literally comes with a lobster claw on top.
Rococo
If you’re feeling more of an upscale vibe, Rococo’s luxurious mac and cheese features smoked gouda, gruyere, lobster and rigatoni for a rich and decadent experience.
The Press
With options like chili, BBQ and buffalo mac, The Press adds bleu cheese, green onions and a ranch drizzle for a flavorful finish. Their chili mac is topped with chili and crumbled cornbread for a Southern spin.
The Hamilton
The Hamilton creates a unique mac and cheese with house boursin cheese, jack cheese and fried shallots, offering a blend of flavors that are both bold and comforting.
Vegan/ Gluten-Friendly
The Loaded Bowl
Known for their plant-based goodness, The Loaded Bowl offers original, buffalo and BBQ vegan mac options, with gluten-free versions also available.
Red Cup
Red Cup's Green Chile and Vegan Chorizo Mac features cashew cheese sauce, corn, green chile sauce, grilled tofu and salsa chorizo, offering a vibrant and satisfying vegan option that's big on flavor.
