While those outside the city may not expect it, the art scene is thriving in the Modern Frontier. OKC’s creative and innovative spirit is illustrated in our passion for the arts. This creativity and ingenuity are on display at many local art galleries around town.

Paseo Arts & Creativity Center

With its two exhibit galleries, an artist in residence, and almost a dozen studio artists, there is always something happening at the Paseo Arts and Creativity Center. First Fridays in Paseo are a great time to catch their monthly rotating exhibitions and the center is open throughout the week for a more leisurely experience as well. The Paseo Arts Association, which operates out of the Center, is a 501c3 non-profit organization that has worked since 1981 to develop the Paseo into the thriving arts district it is today. Some other galleries in Paseo include Paseo Gallery One, Contemporary Art Gallery, In Your Eye Studio & Gallery and Little D Gallery.

Exhibit C

The Chickasaw Nation boasts Exhibit C in the heart of Bricktown. This gallery and retail space exhibits and sells work by Native American artists and artisans. Exhibit C provides access to authentic expressions by Native American artists from across the state. Be sure to check out “The Council” a mural by Eric Tippeconnic of the Comanche Nation on the side of their building.

Artspace at UNTITLED

In the historic Deep Deuce district, you can find ARTSPACE at Untitled. With a passion for engaging with their community in a collaborative, creative experience, visitors discover unique ways to delve into the arts. Whether through jazz sessions, community gatherings, workshops or their one-of-a-kind exhibitions, ARTSPACE is always looking for new ways to connect the creative community with the greater community in which it dwells.

Red Earth Art Center

The Red Earth Art Center hosts a respected permanent collection of more than 1,000 items of Native fine art, pottery, basketry, textiles and beadwork – Deupree Cradleboard Collection – as well as changing exhibits featuring local, regional and national artists.
