Explore the variety of thrilling water activities at RIVERSPORT Rapids in OKC’s Boathouse District. This beautiful facility hosted the U.S. Olympic Team Trials for canoe slalom in April 2024 and the International Canoe Federation’s World Cup event in 2022. Paddle Around Scissortail Park Lake

Embark on a paddle adventure around Scissortail Park’s lake. From Noon-8 p.m. Fridays-Sundays, canoes, kayaks, tandem kayaks and ADA-accessible paddle boats are available for rental at the Scissortail Park Boathouse. The boathouse is an affordable alternative to some of the more expensive options around the Modern Frontier, as half-hour rentals are just $15 per rider. All riders must sign a waiver and riders 15 and under must have a parent or guardian co-sign their waiver. Riders 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Enjoy a Lake Day on a Boat Rental 

Enjoy a day out on the water on one of OKC’s breathtaking lakes. Lake Overholser, located in west Oklahoma City, is a 1,500-acre body of water perfect for stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, boating and jet skiing. Open June-October, the eastern shore of Lake Overholser allows easy access for boaters, anglers and anyone else looking to enjoy some time on the water. 

Another perfect place for paddle boarding, kayaking and boating, Lake Hefner is one of the area’s most photo-friendly destinations in the summertime. Lake Hefner, located in northwest OKC, is a picturesque body of water complete with a stunning lighthouse and 18 miles of shoreline.
