Brush With the Wild inspires guests 18+ to get creative for conservation in the perfect setting, a private evening at the OKC Zoo! Tickets on sale now.

 

The Oklahoma City Zoo’s newest event series, Brush With the Wild, paints the perfect night out for wildlife and art enthusiasts 18 and older.

 

Brush With the Wild invites guests to experience the OKC Zoo after hours while participating in a guided painting experience inspired by the Zoo’s incredible animal family. This unique series is designed for artists of all skillsets, giving them the opportunity to paint their own wildlife masterpiece from the impressive surroundings of the Zoo’s Expedition Africa.

 

“We are excited to launch this new event series, giving guests a creative way to learn about the Zoo’s animal family and conservation initiatives,” said Jenna Dodson, OKC Zoo’s Director of Events and Sales. “We hope it will be a fun addition to date nights, friend’s nights, or team building, and can’t wait to see everyone’s beautiful works of art.”

 

Brush With the Wild events highlight original theme-based designs with step-by-step painting guidance provided by a Zoo expert. Events also feature animal ambassador presentations and tasty bites plus a selection of specialty drinks will be available for purchase on-site for guests 21 and older to keep the creative juices going. All art supplies will be provided with the cost of the event. Brush With the Wild dates and themes include:

 

  • Thursday, July 16: Celebrate Oklahoma’s wildlife, paint an American alligator!
  • Thursday, September 17: The Zoo’s Asian elephant calves are the cutest, paint a baby elephant!
  • Thursday, November 19:  Holiday inspired theme!

 

These seasonal paint-and-sip sessions will take place inside the Love’s Pachyderm Building from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Check-in and animal ambassador presentations begin at 6:30 p.m. Guided paint demonstration kicks off at 7 p.m., events conclude at 9 p.m. General admission starts at $30 for ZOOfriends and $35 for nonmembers. November’s Brush With the Wild event will also include entry to OKC ZOO SAFARI LIGHTS walk-thru experience, and will have an admission price of $45 for ZOOfriends and $50 for nonmembers. Plus $2 of every ticket sold goes to the OKC Zoo’s conservation program, Round Up for Conservation. Admission includes: guided paint instruction, art supplies, light refreshments, and a special animal encounter! Space is limited and advance registration is required.
