OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City is fully charged to welcome fans of the 2026 NCAA Women’s College World Series (WCWS). Kicking off May 28 and running through June 5, the event is set to draw 120,000 attendees and contribute an estimated $25 million to the Oklahoma City economy.

Standing firmly as one of the city’s largest annual tourism draws, the event delivers a financial engine for the region by generating an estimated $1.5 million in state taxes for Oklahoma. With capacity crowds of 12,500 fans per session at Devon Park daily, this massive influx of out-of-town visitors consistently drives downtown hotel occupancy rates past 90 percent over the tournament's opening weekend.

Since 1991, the WCWS has called Oklahoma City home—a 35-year legacy that highlights a deep dedication to women's athletics. This history serves as the perfect launchpad for softball’s ultimate global stage as Devon Park prepares to serve as an official venue in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games in Oklahoma City.

“The Women’s College World Series being in Oklahoma is a testament to what happens when community vision and intentional investment align,” said Christy Gillenwater, president & CEO of the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber. “That dedication built the foundational pipeline that is carrying Oklahoma City directly onto the global stage for the LA28 Olympic Games. This tournament is proof that OKC knows how to dream big and deliver on a world-class scale.”

That world-class stage in Oklahoma City stands on decades of local passion and community dedication.

“Women’s collegiate softball isn’t just a sport to Oklahoma; it’s a part of our identity,” said Adam Wisniewski, vice president of sports development of Visit Oklahoma City. “Oklahoma City has proudly supported women’s sports for decades, and being recognized as the softball capital of the world is a privilege earned through decades of dedication to the sport. We were here at the beginning, and we are just as charged up today to welcome the world's best athletes and fans.”

Adding to the tournament's distinct rhythm is a high-octane sports calendar collision. Throughout the week, WCWS will share the national television spotlight concurrently with both the NBA Conference Finals and the NBA Finals.

Locally, sports fans will experience an unparalleled atmosphere with up to four potential schedule overlaps between the World Series action at Devon Park and the Oklahoma City Thunder's championship run.

A full schedule of events, fan experiences and official ticket options can be found on the Women’s College World Series website.
