Oklahoma City has taken steps to improve accessibility features in order to welcome visitors of all abilities. From indoor exhibitions to outdoor adventures, Oklahoma City has something for everyone! Let me provide you with an extensive accessibility guide for Oklahoma City to ensure a smooth and enjoyable trip.
Where to Stay
The Omni Hotel, located in downtown OKC, offers many different accessible rooms with beautiful views of the Oklahoma City skyline or Scissortail Park. If you’d rather stay in Bricktown, the Hilton Garden Inn has several accessible room options, including rooms with great views of the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Or the Residence Inn is located right on the Bricktown canal with multiple accessible room options, including one- and two-bedroom suites.
Where to Eat
During my most recent trip to OKC, I got to try several restaurants that were new to me. I follow a gluten-free diet and appreciate it when restaurants are accommodating to different dietary restrictions.
The Press
The Press is in the perfect location right in the Plaza District! There is plenty of space to get around the restaurant and in between tables, and the tables are easy to roll under. There are plenty of gluten-free and vegan options. Accessible parking can be found off of 16th Street.
Bob's Steak & Chop House
Bob's Steak & Chop House is located conveniently within the Omni Hotel, if that’s your home base for your trip. The workers were more than accommodating between removing a chair before we were seated and making sure we knew where the accessible restrooms were located. I enjoyed the filet mignon and would recommend the creme brulé for dessert! There is a large gluten-free menu available. Valet is available for parking. There is also accessible parking off of S Robinson Ave.
Picasso Cafe
Picasso Cafe is located in the beauty of the Paseo Arts District. The disabled entrance is clearly marked. Although there are ramps throughout the restaurant, some may be a struggle for wheelchair users as they are steep or uneven. There are plenty of gluten-free and vegan options labeled on the menu. Accessible parking is limited but can be found right off of Paseo or on NW 29th St.
The Hall's Pizza Kitchen
The Hall's Pizza Kitchen is definitely worth a stop! They offer a gluten-free crust, which is delicious, as well as a gluten-free cookie option. All pizzas can be made gluten free other than the "Lasagna" pizza. Accessible parking is located just in front of the restaurant and is limited.
The Harvey Bakery & Kitchen
Harvey Bakery has plenty of gluten-friendly and vegan options. The pastry items are labeled within the pastry case, and there is gluten-friendly sandwich bread available. The hallway to the bathroom is a pretty tight squeeze, so that route may not be possible for some wheelchair users. Accessible parking is available across the street at the PAM Health Specialty Hospital.
The Mule
The Mule is located in the Plaza District and has the best gluten-free grilled cheese and tomato soup in OKC! They have plenty of gluten-free options as well as mocktails and cocktails. Accessible parking is located off of NW 16th St.
Hatch Early Mood Food
Hatch Early Mood Food is the perfect stop for breakfast or brunch! The staff is very accommodating and will remove a chair to make for an easy entry. Gluten-free options are available. Accessible parking is located in the parking lot north of Hatch.
Holey Rollers
Holey Rollers is the ideal spot for a quick doughnut, renowned for their delicious gluten-free and vegan options! Accessible parking is located right out front off of Paseo.

City and Stars is a cute boutique with adorable clothes, jewelry and gifts. You don’t want to miss the opportunity to get a beautiful piece of permanent jewelry at the charm bar. Accessible parking for City and Stars is located in front of The Jones Assembly, which is just next door.
If you are a lover of art, you will definitely want to check out the OKC Museum of Art. OKCMOA offers a dynamic range of both permanent and temporary exhibits. The museum has wheelchair-accessible entrances, restrooms and galleries. They also offer sign language interpretation and assistive listening devices. Accessible parking is available on Couch Drive in front of the Museum.
If you are ready to spend a day outside exploring 130 acres and seeing the home of more than 2,000 animals, the Oklahoma City Zoo is the place for you. The zoo has wheelchair-accessible paths, entrances and restrooms. The OKC Zoo also offers wheelchair and stroller rentals, sign language interpretations for some events and accessible viewing areas for animal encounters.
