OKLAHOMA CITY (May 7) – A dozen metro-area middle school and high school rowing teams will compete in RIVERSPORT’s spring Youth Rowing League Championships on May 11, 2024, on the Oklahoma River in the Boathouse District. More than 124 participated in the league this spring after 12 weeks of team practice. 


Racing begins at 4:30 p.m. and continues into the evening with teams racing under the lights on the 500m course. An Awards Ceremony will be held at 8:30 p.m. 


The Youth Rowing League gives youth from Title 1 Schools and area nonprofit organizations the opportunity to row on a team at no cost. The program is funded via grants and sponsorships including CompSource Mutual Insurance Company, Mercy, Love’s County Stores, Cox Communications, Bank of Oklahoma, Devon Energy, Apel Foundation, Express Employment Professionals, OG&E, Kimray, Stewart, Title of Oklahoma, American Fidelity Bank, TSET, Oklahoma City Public Schools and A Most Beautiful Thing Inclusion Fund.

Mid Del Schools (Del City, Midwest City, Carl Albert) 

Mission Academy 


Southeast High School 

Southeast Middle School 

St John Bosco Institute 

Mustang Area Rowing Club High School 

Mustang Area Rowing Club Middle School
