OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (July 21, 2022) – 21c Museum Hotel Oklahoma City, located in the West Village District, is thrilled to announce grand openings of two new concepts. Bodega opened on July 5, and Pool Bar opens July 21. Both stand as casual and complementary counterpoints to Mary Eddy's at 21c. Joining a brand-new outdoor pool, the fresh concepts aim to create an oasis in the heart of Downtown Oklahoma City.
Inspired by whimsical summer days under the sun, Pool Bar offers an approachable and social dining experience as you lounge poolside with your crew. With lighthearted, playful dishes, vibrant cocktails and frozen treats, 21c Oklahoma City’s Pool Bar takes you on a holiday with each sip and snack. Dinner service starts today, with lunch service starting in mid-August.
“Creating the menus for these two new concepts was such a fun experience,” says Jeff Patton, Executive Chef of 21c Oklahoma City. “With Pool Bar, the dishes embody the spirit of the region and the flavors of a tropical vacation, while Bodega capitalizes on the ‘grab-and-go’ energy associated with local shops and convenience for our neighbors.”
Pool Bar’s playful approach to food combines tried-and-true favorites with fresh and unique twists. Smoked chicken wings with charred chili hot sauce pair perfectly with a local brew while the spicy cauliflower tacos beg to be chased by a house-made seasonal popsicle. Innovative cocktails like the Frozen Orange Dream are reminiscent of relaxing days spent on holiday. Guests can enjoy the unparalleled beauty of an OKC summer sunset with a frozen cocktail in hand.
“Pool Bar and Bodega bring something new and fresh to the city, and we’re really excited for the community to experience our take on casual dining,” says Kyle Kern, Food & Beverage Director at 21c Oklahoma City.
Catering to hotel guests and the community alike, Bodega offers a one-stop shop for quick and thoughtful bites and beverages for all hours of the day. Shelves are stocked with a curated selection of provisions made in-house and by other local artisans, and goods to elevate every occasion. Bodega features dine-in and take-away options for every meal of the day with a full-service coffee bar, fresh pastries, craft cocktails and selections from local breweries. Lunch options include American-classic dishes from ready-to-eat chicken salad sandwiches and chopped salads to reimagined staples like Calabrian chili pasta salad. Additionally, coming soon are expanded grab-n-go options and an impressive new gift shop space.
“The guest experience at 21c Oklahoma City has transformed into an even more immersive offering, taking our pride and foundation as an art museum and bringing even more chances to bridge the worlds of art and hospitality,” said Alberto Abreu, General Manager of 21c Oklahoma City. “This contemporary interpretation of the building’s industrial heritage features two very distinct enhancements to our property and expands our offerings that will be more encompassing to guests and welcome even more local residents to visit us no matter the reason or season.”
Mary Eddy’s, 21c Oklahoma City’s chef-driven restaurant located inside the Museum Hotel, underwent renovations last year and reopened to the public in October 2021. The immersive, nostalgic space reminiscent of the Beaux-Art style and the neoclassical interior of the home of Fred and Mary Eddy Jones (the latter of whom is the namesake for the restaurant), along with a uniquely elegant yet warm ambiance, a menu of elevated classics, and craft cocktails have quickly made Mary Eddy’s a favorite of OKC residents and visitors alike. The romantic, domestic environment of Mary Eddy’s is perfectly complemented by the industrial, transcending midcentury elements present in the new Pool Bar and Bodega. 21c Oklahoma City partnered with Duro Hospitality and Sees Design to transform the initial Mary Eddy's dining room space into the new Pool Bar & Bodega.
“When designing the concepts, we drew inspiration from the original usage of the building as a manufacturing facility,” said Benji Homsey with Duro Hospitality. “From expansive industrial doors covered in sheet metal, to colorful, hand-glazed tiles contrasted against teakwood, every element was thoughtfully chosen. The result is a fun and modern dining environment with a breezy, tropical outdoor space, and we are sure guests will love this innovative new addition to downtown OKC.”
21c Oklahoma City opened in June 2016 and is located in the West Village District. For hours and additional information, visit poolbarokc.com, Pool Bar OKC on Instagram, or call 405.982.6960.
