OKLAHOMA CITY - Prepare to embark on a powerful and inspiring journey with Deonna Marie Cattledge as she shares her incredible story of triumph over adversity. The Deonna Marie Experience: From the Crack House to the Opera House, Blooming through Brokenness makes its world premiere at Factory Obscura in downtown Oklahoma City this August.

This captivating one-woman production takes place in a truly immersive setting, allowing you to feel every emotion as you bear witness to Deonna Marie’s remarkable tale. With heartwarming melodies and poignant recollections, Deonna will take you on a life-affirming journey, from the depths of addiction to the heights of achievement. Open August 10-27, 2023, this show is a transformative experience that will leave you feeling empowered and renewed.

The Deonna Marie Experience is a true-life tale, relayed through rich storytelling and original music drawing from classical, soul, jazz, and gospel influences. The music is written and composed by Deonna Marie, with collaborative contributions from a team of local Black artists, including Brandon Haynes, Byron Martin, Camille Tomin, and Liz Spencer. It is produced and recorded by Nikolas Thompson and Chris Cutta.

Deonna Marie is currently touring with NPR’s The Moth, sharing one of the stories from her one-woman show. She has performed on The Moth Mainstage in Massachusetts, Dallas, and New York. Director Wendy Poole commented, “Audience members at The Moth have been so moved by Deonna Marie’s one story; I can’t wait for people to experience the entire show.”

Over the last year, Deonna Marie has been working on Cricket’s Requiem, a soon-to-be-released feature film. Deonna Marie served as vocal coach for the actors and sings the film’s theme song "Take My Heart With You." She also stars in the soon-to-be-released documentary Finding Cricket's Choir as a Panelist and Judge.

Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Deonna Marie is a classically trained opera singer with 3 degrees in Vocal Performance. She has performed as a Resident Artist at Adèle Wolf Productions in Oklahoma City for over 3 years. She is also a nominee in Hundred Magazine’s “100 women making a difference in Oklahoma City.” Whether it’s singing, storytelling, or acting, Deonna Marie uses her rich and captivating voice to transcend emotions and has raised audiences to their feet on stages all over the world.

The Deonna Marie Experience is open August 10-27, 2023, with doors at 7:30pm and show at 8:00pm each Thursday-Saturday, and doors at 2:30pm with show at 3:00pm on Sundays. Tickets are $45 in advance or $50 the day of the show. While it is open to all ages, the show does contain mature subject matter and parental discretion is advised.
