RIVERSPORT to Open Whitewater, Sky Trail Memorial Day Weekend

RIVERSPORT has announced the re-opening of whitewater rafting, tubing and kayaking along with the Sky Trail ropes course, high speed slides and youth zone on Memorial Day weekend. The adventures are resuming as part of RIVERSPORT’s COVID-19 Phase II re-opening.

“We are fortunate that so many of our activities actually lend themselves to social distancing,” said Mike Knopp, executive director. “We opened kayaking and stand up paddle boarding a couple of weeks ago and feel really good about the way that’s going.”

RIVERSPORT summer camps will start in June and include sailing, rowing, sprint kayaking and adventure camps for youth. Registration is now open.

“Being outdoors matters, and we see all of this as important part of getting kids, and really whole families, active and back outside,” Knopp said.  “At the same time, we understand the risks and are doing all that we can to reduce them.”

RIVERSPORT has established protocols to ensure each piece of equipment is disinfected between uses. Staff is screened daily for symptoms or exposure to the coronavirus along with temperature checks and are required to wear masks. Masks are optional for guests.

Whitewater rafting will be opened with some modifications including rafting only with the people who came in your group. The flow of people has been changed to minimize contact and reservations are required.

RIVERSPORT is also offering kayak and stand up paddle board rentals at Lake Overholser and Lake Hefner

Day passes start at $39.99 and season passes are currently 50% off and are $99.99 through May 31. Season passes are good for both the 2020 and 2021 seasons, and for every season pass sold RIVERSPORT will provide a free pass to a family in need. It is part of their “One Family Helping One Family” RIVERSPORT Connects initiative to help with the recovery by giving families the opportunity to spend active time outdoors.

Anyone interested in donating to provide additional free passes to families in need can find more information on the RIVERSPORT web site.
