Happy Hour as a national institution began in earnest in the 1960s – yes, it goes back much farther – when bars and restaurants used discounts to attract customers in slower afternoon hours, but one of the best trends is restaurants offering a late Happy Hour to keep guests in the building after the peak dinner hours. Oklahoma City has an excellent selection of “early” and “late” happy hours, and most of them include food specials, especially bar snacks or appetizers.

The Crain opened in December last year, bringing owner Ross Crain’s decades of hospitality experience to his own eponymous concept. One of north OKC’s favorite destinations, The Hamilton Supperette & Lounge, offers Happy Hour specials despite already having a busy bar.
