One of the most frequent questions asked of Oklahoma City’s food scene is where to get late-night eats. Let’s agree up front that “late night” is subjective, and people like to eat at different times. Since restaurants that serve dinner tend to close between 9 and 11 p.m., for the sake of this list of options, we’ll cover bars and restaurants that serve after 11 p.m. It's also worth mentioning that OKC's late-night scene shines brightest on Friday and Saturday nights. And many SWOKC taco trucks stay open into the early morning hours, making tacos the perfect starting point.

El Chilango, a luchador-themed taqueria on the southwest side of town, is well known for their tacos, mole and Mexican beverages like champurrado. They have a wide-ranging menu that includes traditional favorites like pambazos, tortas and pozole, too, and they are open until midnight on Sundays, and 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

Los Desvelados is another southwest side favorite, especially for fans of birria. The taqueria has traditional tacos – barbacoa, tripas, lengua, al pastor – along with more approachable options for the less adventurous. You’ll also find tortas, sopes, enchiladas and burritos. They’re open until 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights.

Taqueria Sanchez is the blue truck everyone seems to be familiar with on NW 10th west of Portland, and they’re open until midnight every night except Friday and Saturday, when they’re open until 1 a.m. The tacos are well known, but the mulitas are where the magic is for this popular truck.

Beverly’s Pancake House opened in 1921 and moved to the current location in 2008. They’ve been making breakfast 24 hours a day for early birds and late-nighters their entire existence. The menu includes pancakes, skillets, waffles, mash-ups and even a platter of chicken gizzards. You can also get their Chicken in the Rough – which consists of half a fried chicken, shoestring potatoes and a biscuit with honey. Doesn’t matter what day, because as their slogan says, “Always open.”

Late-night Thai food is now a thing in Oklahoma, and you have two excellent choices. Deem Laow is a neighborhood bar with Thai food adjacent to Tana Thai on N. May. The menu includes traditional Thai food, including spring rolls, crab puffs and delicious boat noodles. Mob Thai’d is the food truck associated with Uptown 23rd’s Thai House. They post up on some Thursdays and many weekends from 9 p.m. or 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. Check their Facebook for the schedule because the laab-style wings and khao soi noodles are worth staying up late for.

Radbar is the first of a few bars that double as a restaurant and serve food late. In the case of this Plaza District spot, you can get late-night fare every night until 1 a.m. That means chicken nuggets, gochujang beef quesadillas, burgers, wings, wraps, onion rings, etc. for the late-night cravings.

R&J Lounge and Supper Club is justifiably famous as a day-drinking bar, but they don’t get nearly enough love for their food, especially their line of burgers. No need to categorize them. Just enjoy the late-night comfort food. Their kitchen is also open until 12:30 a.m. seven nights a week.

One of OKC’s best dive bars, Good Times has an amazing patio and fantastic food. They serve elevated bar food with some twists, including a smoked gouda mac that is worth the trip. The crunchwrap is excellent, as is the burger. But the star is the chicken sandwich. During the winter, they serve hot drinks, too, so you can stay warm while playing with Belvedere the yellow-eyed cat. They serve until midnight on Friday and Saturday.

The Other Room is a popular watering hole in the Paseo District. They don’t advertise it much, but they serve Picasso Cafe’s appetizer menu at half off whenever they’re open. So that means you can get empanadas, jalapeno hush puppies, lettuce wraps or vegan nachos until midnight seven days a week.

Formosa Street Food & Bar in Uptown 23rd serves until 11:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Owner Ivan Wong is a partner at Szechuan Story, and there is some overlap between the menus, including the popular spicy cold noodles. They also have basil popcorn chicken that is a must have in OKC and pork soup dumplings.

Guyutes is another Uptown 23rd spot with late-night eats. As much bar as restaurant, the 2 a.m. closing time means you can order food until 1:30 a.m. The Tequila Sunfryz are the best waffle fry option in the city, and the Traffic Light dip trio is a best seller for good reason. They do a great job for the vegan and vegetarian crowd, too. And on a nice night, you can dine comfortably on the rooftop patio.

Finally, no list like this is complete without Bobo’s Chicken. The NEOKC institution pops up every Friday and Saturday night from 7 p.m. ‘til 2 a.m. You’re here for the spicy chicken, but they have catfish and shrimp too. And yes, you want a biscuit.
