Pet-Friendly OKC

You aren't the only one who can enjoy a day or night out. Here's the scene for pet-friendly fun around OKC.

Pet-Friendly spots in OKC

There's so much to do in Oklahoma City for residents and visitors, from our nightlife to our outdoor attractions and robust performing and visual arts scene. Something that you may not know about are the activities you can enjoy with your entire family, including your pet. We've curated a guide to show you where you can live your best life with your favorite animal.

Bar K
Bar K is a dog park and restaurant located in the Boathouse District. There's both outdoor and indoor places for the dogs to play, a splash pad for your pup to cool down in, several bars and a gift shop. They host fun events all month long like doga, trivia nights and breed meet ups.

Solo's Park & Pub
Solo's Park & Pub is a restaurant and off-leash dog park in Chisholm Creek! With a bar and restaurant on premise, the facility also offers a chaperoned dog park, dog-sitting, dog wash stations and more.

Scissortail Park
While it's not your traditional dog park (although there is one on the west side of the park), it might as well be. Scissortail Park has 70-acres of space full of green grass for your pet to play and plenty of other options for humans to have fun. Those options include a boathouse, amphitheater, children's park and more. While this can't be an off-leash experience, it's undoubtedly one of the best options for fun in the warmer seasons.

Midtown Mutts
Midtown Mutts is another ideal option in the heart of Oklahoma City's Midtown District if you're looking for a place for your dog to burn some energy (or calories). Open 24 hours, this dog park is a great place to bring your dog when you're out enjoying the growing nightlife experience of Midtown. There's even an extra fenced-in area for the more hyper dogs to burn energy without disrupting calmer pets.

Lake Hefner
One of Oklahoma City's original outdoor experiences, Lake Hefner is always an option for outdoor recreation for you and your pet. With seemingly limitless space to roam, including a 9-mile trail that circles the entire lake, you can do a plethora of things with your pet by your side.

Pet-Friendly Breweries

Breweries are some of the most pet-friendly establishments in Oklahoma City. Most will allow you to enjoy your favorite beer on the menu, while allowing your dog to enjoy the experience with you (but not drinking beer, of course). The breweries in Oklahoma city also offer a patio space for social distancing and for your pup to enjoy the fresh air and space on nicer days.

Traveling with a pet?

With Oklahoma City being a center point of Route 66 and Oklahoma being the state with the most drivable miles of Route 66, it could also make for an unruly trip for your pup. Luckily, someone else has dealt with that and gave a guide on how to make a road trip with your pet(s) less hectic.
